A 20-year-old woman, Toyin Somorin, was on Monday charged with stabbing her neighbour in the chest with a pair of scissors at an Abeokuta Chief Magistrates’ Court.

The prosecutor, ASP Paul Etusi told the court that the accused committed the offence on Nov. 30 at 3.30 p.m at 18, Oke-Ijeun St., Abeokuta.

He said the woman allegedly stabbed a man, Sikiru Adeniji, in the chest with a pair of scissors during a disagreement over money.

“Adeniji lent the accused N100 and when he asked for the money it led to a fight and in the process, the accused stabbed him in the chest with a pair of scissors.”

Etusi noted that the offence contravened Section 355 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.

The accused pleaded innocence of the offence.

The Chief Magistrate, Anthony Araba, granted the woman bail in the sum of N 30,000 with one surety in like sum.
