The national legal adviser of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muiz Banire, has expressed confidence that the party will win the general elections in 2019.
He said the party had done well for Nigerians and will retain power.
Speaking on boast by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that it was back on track, Banire said the APC will emerge as winners again.
“We have absolute chance. But the truth of the matter is that the party naturally would be challenged, there is no doubt about that.
“But we will triumph at the end of the day because we have done much as a party, we have impacted on the country positively.”
On his ‘suspension’ by the executive committee of Mushin Local Government, Banire said the national executive has voided the suspension, declaring that the LG executive has no power to suspend a national officer.
“There is no issue again. I am not at the centre of anything. Nobody has removed me. I am still the National Legal Adviser,” he said.
“No level has removed me. Are they the executive? There is no suspension. The issue has been dealt with since.
“The national executive has told them that it is a waste of time. My party is intact.”
Banire stressed that his relationship with the party leadership in Lagos state is still very cordial.
He said, “There is no fight. You make peace where there is crisis. There is no crisis. My relationship with the leadership of the party is cordial.
“I have no problem with anybody. It is a matter of the Constitution. You know I am a lawyer and I deal by the law.”
