Two men in police net for buying blood from students

Operatives attached to the Elere Police station in Lagos state have arrested two patent medicine sellers. They are 23-year-old Olusola Opeyemi, and 35-year-old Adeagbo Olatunji. The duo were accused of buying blood from students in Agege area of state.

They were caught collecting blood from students of Oyewole High School, Agege, while paying them between N1,000 and N1,500 each.

DailyPost has gathered that the blood collected from the students was always being sold to a middleman , Adetola Kayode, 48, for N7,000 per pint.

Meanwhile, kayode on the other hand sells the blood to two other men who claimed to be doctors at the rate of N11, 000 per pint.

According to Police investigation, the so-called doctors were identified as Otokiti Ajibola, 53 and Ladunni Steven, 52, and were subsequently arrested.

Narrating how the suspects were nabbed, the Asoju-Oba of Orile Agege, Chief Sanni Olayinka, disclosed that he was with the DPO of Elere Police Station, Chief Superintendent of Police,CSP, Phillips Eze when the Oba of Agege called his attention to his palace via a mobile telephone.

In his words, “When I got to the palace, I saw the arrested suspects with a large crowd. I quickly called the police to prevent the suspects from being lynched.”

However, teachers and students at Oyewole High School declined to comment on the matter for fear of being sanctioned, but a teacher who spoke on the condition of anonymity confirmed the incident.

He said the incident had been going on for a long time now.

The DPO of Elere Police Station also declined to confirm the story.

All attempts to see the principal of the school also proved unsuccessful, as he was said to be attending a meeting as at the time of filing this report
