Two con men nabbed in their ‘shrine’ in Ogun state

Two suspected con men, whose modus operandi involves luring people into a ‘shrine’ and duping them of their hard earned money, have been busted by the police in Ogun state.

This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Zone 2 command, Dolapo Badmus, said that operatives of the Zonal Intervention Squad (ZIS), while on routine Patrol along Owode Obafemi Ofada Road Ogun State on March 27, 2017, at about 10pm, discovered a sienna bus packed in a suspicious manner and accosted the occupants.

According to him, upon inquiry the operatives discovered that the occupants are suspected fraudsters. He gave their names as Olayinka Adeola and Ibrahim Balogun

He further disclosed that further investigation revealed that the suspected fraudsters, had lured their victim, a 64 year old nurse named Goodluck Ogbodu of Effa Street, Ughelli Delta State to Lagos state in order to make him ‘rich’.

The two suspects had obtained a sum of One hundred and fifty thousand naira (N150, 000) from the victim. However, the loot was recovered from the shrine.

The two suspects who have confessed to the crime also stated that they have used the same mode to dupe many unsuspected victims.

The PPRO added that the case will be charged to court investigations are concluded.
