Two men have been arrested by men of the Ondo State Police Command after attempt to kidnap a 10-year old boy in Oke Aro area of Akure, the State capital failed.
DailyPost gathered that the victim, simply identified as Gabriel escaped from the kidnappers’ den after he was allegedly abducted on Tuesday evening from his residence around Old St. Francis area in Oke Aro.
A source narrated that the suspects went to the boy’s house, abducted him in the presence of his mother and left despite efforts by the mother to rescue him.
It was gathered that the shout for help by the mother attracted the neighbours who rushed to the police station to report the matter. They were however told by the security agents on duty that they could not do anything until after 24 hours.
Luck however ran against the suspected evil men, as the boy, on Tuesday morning escaped from the hands of the kidnappers and went straight to the police station to report himself.
It was after this that the policemen in Oke Aro Division swung into action and went into the bush where the kidnappers had turned to their den and consequently arrested two of them.
While confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO ), Mr Wole Ogodo said the suspects were in police custody while investigation had commenced on the incident.
