Three suspects arrested for stealing Ogun State Water Corporation equipment

Three suspected robbers were arrested in Abeokuta, Ogun State by men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC for allegedly stealing and selling equipment belonging to the Ogun State Water Corporation.

Luck however ran against the suspects-Abubakar Kamara (38), Hussain Abubakar( 25), and Akeem Balogun (41), when officers of the Corps swooped on them, following an alert from an informant.

The Corps spokesperson, Kareem Olanrewaju, stated that Mr. Kamara, a site worker with a construction company currently working in the state, who claimed he was not aware the equipment belong to Ogun state Water Corporation, admitted selling the equipment to one Mr. Abubakar.

Olarenwaju added the Mr. Balogun confessed to have acted on the instruction of his boss, Mr. Kamara, to assist the buyer to convey the equipment with his truck.

Mr Hussain admitted that he bought the equipment but claimed that was his first time of buying such equipment from the seller.

The Civil Defence spokesperson said investigations were still ongoing, while also appealing to members of the public to continue to provide helpful information to security agencies.
