Three robbers shot dead, three others arrested in Oyo state

Officers attached to the Oyo state Police Command, Saturday, shot dead three robbers and arrested three others that have been terrorising the state of late.

DailyPost gathered that the robbers stormed the Sabo area of the ancient city on motorbikes, at about 5pm and successfully robbed a bureau-de-change.

According to an eye witness account, it was learnt that the robbers collected two bags containing money and wanted to escape, but luck ran out of them as the bureau de change Operators’ Association blocked all roads leading out of the area.

In his words, ”When they could not use their bikes, they threw one of the bags away and ran towards Adamasingba. The people gave them a hot chase. Police then arrived and surrounded the area, and shot dead three of them, while the rest were arrested.”

Information also revealed that the robbers, in order to cover their tracks and share their loot alone, killed the informant who told them about the money exchange.

Confirming the incident,Oyo State Police Public Relations, DSP Olabisi Ilobanafor, said the culprits will soon appear before the court of law.
