Two security guards of Olofon Grammar School in Idanre local government of Ondo State were during the weekend killed by suspected Armed robbers while on duty.
Sources said the bandits engaged the deceased in gun battle when attempting to gain entrance into the school at night.
It was gathered that the suspected robbers, after killing the guards carted away two new acquired computer sets belonging to the school.
A staff of the school who spoke in confidence lamented that despite the closeness of school to a police station, the guards could not get help from the police officers on duty when the incident occurred.
He added that series of calls were put across to policemen on duty by the residents but yielded no positive result.
However, the remains of the deceased, whose names have not been revealed at the time of this report, were said to have been deposited at the State Hospital, Idanre .
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the State Police Command, Mr Femi Joseph confirmed the incident, saying the command has begun investigation on the matter.
