The abductors of three chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State have made contact with the family of one of the victims.

Ikechi Chinda, Allwell Ihuwo and Chinyere Igwe were kidnapped at gunpoint from a hotel around Eagle Island in Port Harcourt on Wednesday night.

DailyPost gathered that the wife of Ikechi Chinda received a phone call from the kidnappers, who have made a ransom demand of one hundred and forty million naira.

It could be re-called that soon after the men were kidnapped, the leadership of the PDP in Rivers State led by Felix Obuah addressed a news conference in Port Harcourt and blamed the incident on the State Government.

The PDP threatened to mobilize a mass protest if the men were not released within seventy-two hours.

Also on the same day, the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State reacted swiftly in defence of Governor Rotimi Amachi over the allegation by the PDP.
