A pregnant teenager, Monalisa Perez, has shot and killed her boyfriend – Pedro Ruiz – when the two tried to film a YouTube video for fame.
Perez, who already had a 3-year-old daughter at the age of 19, was charged on Wednesday with manslaughter at the Norman County District Court in Minnesota, USA.
According to the police, Ruiz reportedly persuaded his pregnant girlfriend to fire at a book held to his chest in the belief that the book would catch the bullet.
However, when Perez fired the 50 caliber handgun, it ended up striking the 22-year-old, while the couple’s daughter watched on.
Ruiz was pronounced dead at the scene.
However, his aunt – Claudia Ruiz – told the media that the couple have been trying to create Youtube videos that will make them become viral stars; and so, progressively upped the ante with their deadly stunts.
“He had told me about an idea. I said, ‘Don’t do it, don’t do it. Why are you going to use a gun? Why?’ Because, we want more viewers,”‘ she narrated.
