The Police in Kaduna are yet to unravel the circumstance that led to the murder of a newly wedded groom identified Malam Abdullahi S. Abba in Kakieye-Zari area of the State.
The bride is currently being quizzed by the Police over the murder of her husband by suspected hired assassins. The deceased was alleged murdered when he went out of his house to answer the numerous knocks on his gate late last month.
While investigation is still on, spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Aminu Lawal, who confirmed the ugly incident, asserted that the police were investigating the circumstances that led to the killing of the man by suspected murderers. According to him, the bride was invited for interrogation over the sudden demise of his spouse.
“Yes, it is true that my brother only got married to Hajara 9 days ago. Nobody can say exactly what actually happened because the whole episode was surrounded by mysteries. I was with him after the supper of that Tuesday, February 28, only to be called the following day that my brother was killed.
“According to neighbours, he was killed at about 3-4am of Wednesday morning. His corpse was found by the gate. He was stabbed severally. Some neighbours said they heard when he was calling for help but nobody came to his rescue for fear of the unknown.
From what we gathered, there were knocks on the gate of his house and he went out to see the person calling but never returned. The bride confirmed this, saying they were together when he went out. She also confirmed that she heard his wailing but she thought it was a dog that was pursuing somebody and therefore, she did not bother,” he explained.
