Police nab notorious cultist in Delta

The Police authorities in Delta State have apprehended a notorious teenage cultist, after a recent bloody clash that left three persons dead in Obiaruku community, Ukwuani local government area of the state.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Celestina Kalu said in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Friday in Asaba, that the suspect, one Ikechukwu Azubuike was nabbed by detectives after he attempted to escape from the community.

“On September 21, 2015, at about 4.30 pm, police detectives from Obiaruku Division arrested a notorious cultist, one Ikechukwu Azubuike, aged 19 years, at the Obiuaruku Motor Park, behind the Catholic Hospital, while trying to leave the town.

“The suspect, who has been on the run, allegedly took part in a recent bloody secret cult clash in the community that left three persons dead”, Kalu said.

The police spokesperson further disclosed that upon interrogation, the suspect confessed his membership of a secret cult group in the area, known as Spy Cult.

She said the suspect was being held in custody, while investigation into his cult activities had commenced.
