Police in Enugu nab three suspected kidnappers

The Police in Enugu state have arrested three suspected kidnappers who have taken over Nsukka and terrorizing residents for the past few months.

Police Public Relations Officer of the Enugu command, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu who confirmed the arrest said the suspects were apprehended by the operatives of the Anti kidnapping unit of the command.

The PPRO, who said the suspects gave their names as Onyema Ugwueze, Ejike Oduh and Sunday Simon Paul all indigenes of Nsukka, noted that they were arrested at a relaxation park in G.R.A, Enugu on Sunday.

It was gathered that they were allegedly found with fake one hundred and forty pieces of 500 naira notes.

“Their arrest however followed information received during a raid being conducted by the operatives”, the police disclosed, adding that “further interrogation of the suspects revealed that Ejike oduh belongs to a gang known as Dragon Lord and that his real name is Amos Anene Ezema involved in killing of one Sunday Elisha in Nsukka, killing of a juju priest known as Ojenamuo. “He also participated in the alleged kidnap of one Rev. Father among other kidnapping perpetrated in the zone within the period”.

Mr. Ebere said the suspects were still assisting the police in more discreet investigations.
