The Rivers State Police Command has paraded forty six suspected criminals terrorizing the state.

This Commissioner of Police in the state, Joseph Mbu, who paraded the suspects in Port Harcourt said the command’s new crime prevention strategy was beginning to pay off.

Mbu said men of the command were able to avert a planned attack by a gang of armed robbers on bullion vans belonging to some new generation banks.

“Our new crime prevention strategies are paying off and we hope to continue. The command was able to nip in the bud an attack on 2 bullion vans of first generation banks. Their deal was arranged and perfected in Bayelsa and arms were sent first.

“So, luck ran on these people and patrol men cordoned off the area and some vehicles were intercepted”, Mbu stated.

He further disclosed that his command recovered AK 47 and AK 49 rifles, 503 rounds of ammunition, G3 rifles amongst others.

He said: “we intercepted 64 parcels of weed suspected to be Indian hemp, 10 liters of gun powder, and wraps of cocaine.
