Police arrest six armed robbery suspects in Delta

The Delta State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of six armed robbery suspects who recently robbed a commercial transporter of his tricycle at gunpoint in the University town of Abraka.

Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Celestina Kalu, in a statement issued late Friday in Asaba, said that the seven suspects, who were armed, allegedly robbed their victim of his tricycle last Thursday in Abraka.

“On September 3, one Tubosun Elegbeleye, a male, reported at the Abraka Police Station that three armed young men had robbed him at gunpoint of his tricycle with Reg. No. UWN 330 QC.

“​Sequel to the report, the DPO led a team of detectives and arrested one Nduka Enuma, aged (26), Ojonomaro Ejeita,( 23), Mamuyom Godwin,(24), Akpoture Godday,(28), Onoriode Obokwo,(20), and Mudiaga Obokwo,(24).

Kalu said the police recovered the stolen tricycle and also one locally made cut-to-size single barrel gun and five live cartridges.
