The accused, a resident of Abuja Phase 2 in Jalingo, however denied the charge when read to him.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Godfrey Moses, told the court that the offence contravened Section 283 of the Penal Code.

He further told the court that the rape incident was reported at the Taraba Police Command by the victim’s father, Mr Joseph Ubandoma, on Dec. 25, 2013.

The prosecutor said the complainant told the police that the accused came to his residence and lured his daughter into an uncompleted building.

He said the accused forcefully had carnal knowledge of her daughter without her consent, thereby causing her injuries.

Moses asked the court for a short adjournment of the case to enable him conclude investigation, given that the accused had denied the charge.

The magistrate, Aliyu Baffa, ordered the accused to be remanded in prison and adjourned the case to Jan. 20.(NAN)
