Eleven suspected cultists were at the weekend arrested in Owo local government area of Ondo State by men of the State police anti-crime team.

The suspects were arrested after the completion of their initiations as members of AYE confraternity in a bush along Owo/Ifon road.

A police source disclosed that the boys were brought from Uzeba community in the neigbouring Edo State for initiation and they were nabbed while returning to their place in two golf cars.

An anti-crime patrol team led by the Owo Area Commander, ACP Eboka Frida arrested the suspects.

The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Femi Joseph said the suspects had confessed that they were in Owo community for initiation.

Joseph noted that the composure of the suspects and the blood stained polythene bags found on them, aroused suspicion leading to their arrest and detention at the police station.

The police spokesman, however, said the suspects would soon be charged to court.
