Ondo: Court remands 30-year-old okada rider for allegedly raping primary school girl

An Igbara Oke Magistrate Cour‎t in Ondo State has remanded 30-year-old, Seun Aderemi, in prison custody for allegedly raping a teenager.

The accused, who resides at Igbara Oke, is being tried for forcefully having the carnal knowledge of one Marvelous Diya.

14 year-old, Diya is a primary six pupil of St. Anthony Primary school in Igbara Oke, in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo state.

The alleged rapist, who is also an okada rider in the community, was arraigned on a one count charge of rape, which contravened section 358 of the Criminal Code, Revised Laws of Ondo, 2006.

The Police Prosecutor told the court that the accused committed the offence on June 27 at 7. 00 am at his residence.

The Prosecutor said the accused pleaded guilty to the crime in his confessional statement during police investigation.

The Magistrate, Olowookere ordered the accused to be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case till 25th of July 2015, for further hearing.
