Good morning! Here are 10 things you need to know this morning:

1. Angry truck drivers on Monday blocked the Maraban Jos highway, causing a massive gridlock, in protest over the shooting of one of their colleagues by soldiers.

2. Senator representing Ogun-East in the National Assembly, Buruji Kashamu, has withdrawn a N20.1bn libel suit he filed against former President, Olusegun Obasanjo before a court in Abuja. The Judge has since struck out the case.

3. The US government has given the assurance that it will work with the government of President Muhammadu Buhari to exterminate terrorism from Nigeria and its neighbouring countries. The US Assistant Secretary, Bureau of African Affairs, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, disclosed this to newsmen in South Africa in a phone press briefing.

4. Report says no fewer than 13 persons lost their lives to a twin bomb blast, which occurred at exactly 12:30 noon at Duruwa, a local alcohol joint as well as the the office of the vigilante group in Potiskum town in Yobe state. It was reported that several others were injured.

5. Police IG, Solomon Arase, has asked Nigerians to work with the police to remove corruption from the Force by reporting corruption, bribery and bad conduct to relevant authorities . He said a platform known as stopthebribes has been created to tackle the menace.

6. Despite the application against his arrest, a Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday refused to stop EFCC, the police and the Department of State Services from arresting him.

7. Report says senior Pastor with the Living Faith Church, along IBB Way in Calabar, Cross River State, Seyi Adekunle, was on Saturday kidnapped by some unknown gunmen. They reportedly whisked him away from the church premises around 8pm.

8. The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Yakubu Dogara, on Monday announced the names of 36-member House Ad Hoc Committee on Welfare in Abuja. This was contained in a statement by Mr. Jerry Manwe, his Press Secretary.

9. The bail application submitted by some bankers accused of N8billion scam has been dismissed by Justice Ayo Emmanuel of the Federal High Court, Ibadan Division, on Monday. He ordered that representatives of the Central Bank of Nigeria and other bankers involved in the fraud be remanded in prison custody.

10. The Association of Resident Doctors in the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, have commenced a three-day warnig strike over the non- reversal of the skipping policy for doctors working at the hospital. The LUTH ARD Chairman, Dr. Moronkola Ramon, declared the three-day warning strike during a protest on Monday.
