NDLEA nabs blind man with Indian hemp in Kogi

A blind man, identified as Ezekiel Yerima has been arrested with 22.8 kilograms of substance suspected to be Indian hemp. The suspected was arrested by the Kogi State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.

The NDLEA state Commander , Alhaji Mohammed Idris Bello, while parading the suspect, said Yerima was earlier arrested for the illicit drug, tried and granted bail on health ground, but was again re-arrested after he was caught with the substance along Auchi-Okene road.

Relatively, another Kunle Awogbemila, a 300 level student of Kogi State University, Anyigba, was also arrested with 89.3 kilograms of the substance, Belo had disclosed.

He said the Command had seized a total of 277.452 kilograms of Indian hemp between January 1 and now.

He said it is worrisome that an undergraduate student who is expected to be in school is involved in such an act.

The NDLEA boss added that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed.
