NDLEA arrests four drug suspects at Seme border

The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency,NDLEA, Seme Command, has arrested four suspected hard drug dealers.

The commandant of the Seme command, Mr Nicholas Ajaduruonye, who disclosed this in an interview with reporters in Badagry, Lagos State, said the suspects were arrested at the border while allegedly trafficking the illegal drugs from different countries into the country.

He said: “A 46-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman (names withheld) were arrested on April 11 with 131 blocks of Cannabis Sativa weighing 143.1 kilogrammes.

“Both of them were coming from Togo and were caught at search ramp around the border.

“Another 34-year-old man was also arrested at Gbaji on April 4 with one Kilogramme of amphetamine drug while coming from Mali.

“Also, another man was arrested on April 13 at Gbaji area of Badagry with one block of Cannabis Sativa, and he was coming from Ghana.

“All cases are still under investigations and they will soon be prosecuted in accordance with the law”.

The commandant advised Nigerians to desist from the sale and usage of hard drugs.

“This is the same message we pass across to the public that they should desist from the sale and use of hard drugs.

“The economic situation in the country is not an excuse to deal with the drugs because the law will always be the law and those who are caught will have to face the law.

“The public should always cooperate with security agencies and a good relationship must be established because we all have to work as a unit in order to bring criminals to justice”, he pleaded.
