Money laundering: Lamido, sons absent in court

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have failed to produce the immediate past governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido and his sons, Aminu and Mustapha in court on Wednesday, despite assurances given by the agency yesterday. The anti-graft agency yesterday filed a suit before a Federal High court, Kano, accusing Lamido and his two sons of money laundering. Speaking on the failure of the commission to produce the accused persons in court, EFCC’s Director of Legal Services, Achile Okoroma, told reporters at the Federal High Court premises that their absence was due to cancellation of flight from Abuja, assuring that “baring any last minute change, Sule Lamido and his sons would be arraigned on Thursday”.
