Man remanded for allegedly assaulting mother

An Ilorin Magistrates’ Court on Monday remanded one Rotimi John, 27, for allegedly assaulting his mother, Mrs Omolara John.

When the matter came up for hearing, the prosecuting police officer, Mrs Mojisola Olamokun, told the court that the accused on Oct.21 worked into his mother’s room assaulted her, stripped her naked and beat her up.

She said that the accused person was arraigned on a one-count charge of criminal force and assault, which contravened the Penal Code Law.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Mrs Mariam Salawudeen, ordered that the accused be remanded in the Federal Prison, Okekura, Ilorin.

Salawudeen adjourned the case to Nov.12 for further mention. (NAN)
