Man murders cousin over piece of land in Enugu

The police in Enugu State say investigations have commenced into the alleged murder of a 65-year-old man over a land dispute.

DailyPost gathered that the victim, Mr. Christopher Eze was clubbed to death on Monday by his cousin, Chiebolam Eze over issues relating to ownership of a parcel of land.

The deceased and his cousin, indigenes of Obiagu Ada Imilike Agu in Udenu Local Government Area of State, were said to have been having some unresolved family issues for sometimes.

The Police spokesman in Enugu State, Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed the incident, disclosed that “apart from the quarrel over the piece of land, the suspect equally claimed that the deceased conspired with others to destroy his art works without his consent.

“The suspect also claimed that when he tried to find out things from the deceased, he raised a cutlass, which he dodged, and in the ensuing defence, he hit him with a stick on the head and he died on the spot”.

“The deceased’s corpse is now deposited in a nearby mortuary for autopsy as investigations are intensified”, Amaraizu added.
