Man in court over alleged indecent assault on toddler

A 30-year-old man, Adejuwon Adeyemi, on Thursday appeared before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos over alleged sexual assault on a three-year-old girl.

Adeyemi, who resides at No.10, Walter-Endem St., Abule-Egba, Lagos, is facing a two-count charge.

The prosecutor, Insp Richard Odigie, told the court that the accused inserted his manhood into the mouth of the toddler on July 25 at 7.30p.m. at his residence.

Odigie said that the accused told the girl — his neighbour – to come into his room and take a video disc for her mother.

He said that instead of giving the toddler the disc, the accused told her to open her mouth, and then inserted his penis into her mouth.

Odigie said that the offence contravened Section 135(1) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.

Chief Magistrate S.O. Solebo granted him bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case to Sept. 27 for mention. (NAN)
