Man charged for defiling a four-year-old girl

A 30-year-old man, Adedeji Amusa, was on Friday arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly defiling a 4-year-old girl.

The accused, who resides in Epe, Lagos, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and assault.

The Police Prosecutor, Cpl. Babaji Ishiaku, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Oct. 6 at the Bada area of Epe.

“The accused conspired to assault and defile a four-year-old girl.

“The girl was sent by her aunt to collect the money for the `garri’ which she sold to the accused.

“The accused took the girl into his room and used the opportunity to commit the offence,” he said.

Ishiaku said that the offence contravened Sections 170 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

Amusa, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Magistrate O.O. Fowowe granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000, with two sureties each in like sum .

The case was later adjourned to Nov. 19 for mention. (NAN)
