Effort by Jonathan’s family to secure the release of Inengite Nitabai, adopted father of President Goodluck Jonathan, who was kidnapped few days ago seems to have hit the walls as his kidnappers are demanding for the sum of N500m ransom.

The 70-year-old man, was whisked away last Sunday by ten heavily armed men at his Otuoke residence in Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa State and taken away in his private SUV after collecting N400,000 from his wife.

Insiders alleged that the family members had since resorted to prayers for divine intervention following the new development.

Security source told Vanguard that the daredevil abductors have threatened to kill their victim if the family failed to meet their demands.

The source further added that the family had set up a committee to evaluate the demand, establish negotiations with the abductors and facilitate his freedom.

The kidnappers, according to the source, as usual cautioned the family against the involvement of security operatives in the matter.

“The kidnappers contacted the family four days after and demanded a whooping sum of N500m. It is believed that the family of the victim has begun negotiations with the hoodlums,” he said.
