Some armed gunmen on Saturday kidnapped Chief Asuquo Ekpeyong Ekpe, an elder brother to the immediate past Director-General of the Department of State Security Service, DSS, Mr. Ita Ekpeyong.

Ekpeyong was abducted at his Creek Town residence in Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River State at about 4am by the gunmen who came in through the creeks of Calabar estuaries.

According to a family source, George Okon, the kidnappers passed through a canal leading to Ekpe’s residence and abducted him. It was learnt that this was not the first time kidnappers made attempt at the house.

The abduction had already been confirmed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Hogan Bassey, who assured that the kidnappers would soon be tracked.

He told newsmen that, “We are investigating the matter. The kidnappers had invaded the house before but did not succeed. You know Creek Town is a very quiet place. We will soon get the kidnappers.”
