3-months-old baby girl who was kidnapped along with her mother and three siblings in Effurun Uvwie local government area of Delta state were on Tuesday freed.
The little girl who was kidnapped a week after she was dedicated in her family’s church was found with her mother and siblings in a bush around Agbarho town in Ugbell North local government area of the state.
They regained freedom three days after they were snatched by gun-wielding men around Oru Standard Hotel in Jakpa Road area of the town on Saturday afternoon, in a Honda CRV Sport Utility Vehicle.
“Daily Post” gathered that their family paid some undisclosed ransom before they could secure their release on early hours of Tuesday.
Narrating their experience in the hands of kidnappers to their relatives, the victims said that they were kept without food during their stay in the kidnappers’ dudgeon, were blindfolded before they were driven to the point of their release.
Three other children (aged two, four and 14 years) who were abducted along with the trio that Saturday afternoon had earlier been released.
Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Charles Muka, who was contacted, confirmed the report on Monday night before the release of the victims.
He said the police had located the kidnappers’ hideout and were planning to storm the place.
