Kidnap of River PDP chieftains: Abductors reduce ransom to N50m

The kidnappers of three PDP chieftains in Rivers State have reduced their ransom demand to fifty million naira, DailyPost has learnt.

The hoodlums, who made contact with the wife of one of the victims, Ikechi Chinda, had earlier asked for one hundred and forty million naira.

DailyPost gathered that the kidnappers have now contacted Ikechi Chinda’s elder brother, who is an influential PDP member in Rivers State.

The former federal lawmaker is reported to have offered the kidnappers ten million naira, but they declined.

Meanwhile, a socio-cultural group, Oganuhuru-Obio Akpor nu rebisi has appealed to the kidnappers to release the victims.

President of the group, Barrister Anugbum Onuoha called on the state government to raise its effort in securing lives and properties of people in the state.

Onuoha, also gave a forty-eight-hour ultimatum for the release of the men.

It could be recalled that Ikechi Chinda, Chinyere Igwe and Allwell Ihuwo were abducted at a hotel on Eagle Island in Port Harcourt on Wednesday night last week.
