A Kano Magistrates’ Court on Thursday remanded in prison a 28-year-old school teacher, Shamsu Nasiru, for allegedly defiling four pupils.
The accused, who lives at Dawakin Dakata Quarters, Kano, is standing trial on a charge of rape.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Shuaibu Musa, told the court that Ali Ladan, Sale Abdu and Ahmad Ibrahim all of Rangaza Quarters Kano, reported the incident at Zango Police Division, Kano, on March 16.
He alleged that the accused forcefully had carnal knowledge of the complainants’ four daughters.
“The accused raped them in a private primary school situated at Rangaza Quarters, Kano, on different occasions.”
The prosecutor said that the accused had threatened to kill them if they disclosed to anyone the crime he allegedly committed.
The offence, he noted, contravened Section 283 of the Penal Code, Laws of the federation.
Chief Magistrate, Hajiya Maryam Sabo, in her ruling, said the accused should be kept behind the bars after he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The case was adjourned until April 10 for mention.
