Kabiru Sokoto Re-arrested

Boko Haram suspect who escaped from police Custody and has since been at large is said to have  been rearrested,says unconfirmed report.

Kabiru Umar aka “Kabiru Sokoto”, has been re-arrested by men of the Nigerian police and SSS  in Mutum, Taraba State.

Kabiru was captured from a hut alongside his brother.  Sokoto who allegedly was behind the  bombing of St Theresa Catholic Church, Madalla, Niger State on Christmas Day has been on the run since he escaped from the hands of the security agents.

On the contrary, officials of the Nigerian police have said the alleged arrest is still unconfirmed as at the time this report was put together.

Mr. Yemi Ajayi,  Deputy Force Public Relations Officer said it was a rumour.

He said, “It is still a rumour. We are still looking for him. We have not arrested him.”

It would be recalled that kabiru’s escape led to the sack of the former IG of police,  Mr. Hafiz Ringim and the arrest of a former commissioner of police Zakari Biu who is still in police net.
