Gunmen kill APC chieftain in Lagos

Suspected assassins on Thursday shot dead a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Shalewa Daramola, in Amuwo Odofin Local Government area of Lagos.

Daramola is the Assistant Treasurer at the APC Amuwo Odofin chapter.

The incident occurred at 3rd avenue ‘K’ close, Festac Town, while APC members were sharing Sallah gift.

DAILY POST gathered that the deceased stepped out of the premises when one of the gunmen emerged from an adjourning close and accosted Daramola, demanding for money, a decoy to get his attention.

Daramola, however, told the stranger he had no money.

Immediately, the gunman shot the APC official about four times at close range before he jumped into a waiting motorbike.

Daramola was rushed to the Local government Primary Health Centre, from where he was referred to another hospital in Festac Town.

He died before the second destination.
