Gideon AremuThe lawmaker representing Orelope constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Gideon Aremu, has been murdered.
Aremu was assassinated by unknown gunmen on Friday night, the Cable is reporting.
According to the report, the gunmen trailed the lawmaker to his residence in Egbeda Local Government Area of the state and shot him severally.
The spokesman of the state police command, Adekunle Ajisebutu, who confirmed the report, said investigation into the assassination had already begun.
Ajisebutu said, “I can confirm that the incident happened late yesterday, and the police have swung into action.”
