Residents of Ugbuwangue, a community in Warri, Delta State witnessed a major tragedy on Tuesday when a lady identified as Omasan, 21, stabbed her 17-year-old brother, who is the only son of the family to death because he refused to wash plates.
The incident happened in Ugbuwangue community of the state where Omasan who was described as a “Tom-Boy” stabbed her brother identified as Laju to death because he did not follow her orders of washing plates.
Omasan was said to have been infuriated by her brother’s response when she queried, leading to a fight between the duo.
In the cause of the fight, Laju was said to have had an upper hand. This did not go down well with Omasan who went into their kitchen, from where she got the knife to stab her brother in the chest.
An eyewitness said, “He fell to the ground, started screaming, and calling for help before people rushed to the house to to help the boy.”
The Delta State Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Celestina Kalu, while confirming the tragedy said the case was reported to the police by the family, adding that investigation is ongoing.
