Four policemen remanded in prison over murder of car dealer in Edo

Four policemen namely, Adedeji Adeleke, 33, Oniyo Musa,35, Abena John,33, and 32-year-old Henry Shobowale who allegedly killed a car dealer, Benson Obode in Benin City, Edo State have been remanded in Prison custody.

It was learnt that the suspects attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Lagos Police Command came to Edo State to investigate a case involving a stolen car, leading to the arrest of the deceased on May 21, 2015.

The suspects were said to have collected the ATM card of the deceased to withdraw over N200,000.

Briefing newsmen, the State Commissioner of Police, Chris Ezike, said the four police suspects were apprehended after Homicide Detectives from Force Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department took over the investigation of the case.

The police boss stated that all four policemen were tried, dismissed from the Force and subsequently charged for murder on October 19.

Ezike further noted that the case file has been forwarded to the Department of Public Prosecution for legal advice.
