Four dead in Rivers after cultists clash

No fewer than four persons were feared killed on Sunday in Ibaa community, Emohua local government area after some cultists took over the community.

According to community sources, the incident started in the early hours and lasted for about five hours.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmed Muhamaad, who confirmed the incident, said security men had moved in to restore nomalcy.

“The command is aware of the incident. Our men are already there while normalcy has since been restored. Three suspects are in Police custody in connection to the incident”, he said.

Vanguard reports that about four corpses were being conveyed in a Police patrol vehicle out of the community.

The source said despite the presence of security men, natives were seen relocating from the area on motor bikes.
