Fake DSP arrested in Ogun


The Ogun State Police Command in Adatan area of the state have apprehended a man identified as Makinde Paul for impersonating as a Superintendent of Police.

Paul who is a father of four while being paraded at the Police Officers’ Mess, in Ibara Housing Estate confessed to duping members of the public.

Haliru Gwandu, the State Police Deputy Commissioner, noted that the 54 year old Paul, upon suspicion was arrested by men of the police force in Adatan.

He said, “The suspect has been parading himself as an officer of the command since early last year, and in the process he has defrauded many unsuspecting members of the public.”

Paul, while lamenting his action said he had dreamt of becoming a Police Officer but his family members never supported his ambition.

Muyiwa Adejobi, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, urged residents of the state to be cautious of people like Paul.

The state Police spokesperson said, “If any police officer comes to your house to perform any police duty and he does not have an identity card, you have all the right to call the police to come and question his identity.”
