Enugu police nabs two suspected robbers

Two persons, Ejike Odoh and Emeka Odoh are now cooling off their heads in police custody over their alleged involvement in a failed armed robbery operation.

Ejike and Emeka, indigenes of Ama-Orba Inyi, Igboeze North Local Government Area and Amalla village in Udenu Local Government Area, respectively were nabbed by security operatives while attempting to carry out a robbery operation on one Ekene Odoh and Kingsley Odoh. The robbers had also targeted Umuasanya Umuezejor’s handsets, motorcycle and money at Umuezejor village in Udenu Council.

According to a press statement issued by the Police Spokesman in the State and made available to DailyPost, DSP Ebere Amaraizu, the suspected hoodlums operated with one Carter motorcycle,with Registration number WU 207 ENU.

He said they allegedly accosted their victims and ordered them on gun point, to surrender the key of their motorcycle, handsets and money after showing them a locally made pistol.

Luck, however, ran out on them as their victims, in a show of gallantry summoned courage and gripped the one with the locally made pistol and raised the alarm, which attracted the people within the area to the robbery scene.

“Immediately, members of the Neighbourhood watch group and the police were also alerted and one of the suspects, Ejike who had earlier on escaped was given a hot chase by the patrol team and the Neighbourhood watch group of Udenu, and he was eventually arrested.

“Item recovered from them includes a locally made pistol”, the statement had concluded.
