The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC said it has re-arrested Mr, Erastus Akingbola, the former managing director of Intercontinental Bank Plc (now Access Bank Plc).
In terse press statement released on Monday, the EFCC stated that Mr. Akingbola “is currently being held at the Commission’s facility I Ikoyi, Lagos, preparatory to his arraignment tomorrow, February 26, 2013 before Justice Adeniyi Onigbanjo of the Lagos High Court on fresh charges of stealing.”
It added that Akingbola will be arraigned on fresh fraud charges before another Lagos High Court judge.
The banker is accused of siphoning depositors’ funds worth billions of Naira to private account of phony companies.
