The command’s Public Relations Officer, George Okafor, confirmed the incident in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abakaliki on Sunday.
He said the suspect had since been arrested by the police.
According to him, the command received the report of the incident on April 8 from one Okechukwu Nwite of Azuogba-agu village in Umuhuali community of Ishielu Local Government Area of the state.

“The victim’s corpse has been deposited in the mortuary while the police have taken possession of the gun.
“Investigation into the matter has begun, as more information on it would be made public,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that family of the late Ude had invited the vigilante leader and his group to maintain law and order at the burial ceremony when the incident occurred. (NAN)
