DPO, civilian, 3 others killed in fresh attack in Gombe

When many Nigerians thought the menace of killings and bombings are over or probably subsiding, the latest is yet to be told.

Report reaching us from Ashaka area of Gombe State shows that a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and a civilian have been killed while another Police Inspector was severely wounded in an attack by gunmen on a police station and two banks.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police, Area Commander in charge of the zone, Olumide Kayode, the deceased, identified as Abubakar Sadiq was shot dead by the gunmen who followed him to his office in Funnakayi.

In another development, Kayode further disclosed that another policeman was shot dead at a roadblock leading to Ashaka Cement Company while another policeman was killed while on guard at one of the banks.

Meanwhile, the Ashaka Cement Company has taken responsibility of the medical bills of the injured Police who is currently recuperating at the Federal Medical Centre, Gombe.
