Court remands 26-year-old man in prison over alleged armed robbery

An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos on Wednesday remanded in prison custody a 26-year-old man, Felix Airhuodion, for armed robbery.

The magistrate, Mrs Magaret Dan-Oni, ordered that Airhuodion be r

emanded in prison custody pending a legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

She ordered that the case file be duplicated and forwarded to DPP for advice.

The accused, who is unemployed and of no fixed address, is facing a charge of armed robbery.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp. Edet Okoi, had told the court that the accused and others at large, robbed their victim, one Mr Kingsley Ojike, on Nov. 19 along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway using a gun and other weapons.

“The accused with others still at large, attacked Ojike on the high way, dispossessed him of his valuables including a saloon car marked LND 90 BH valued at N1million.

“Airhuodion was apprehended by the police following a tip-off from the public “, Okoi added.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 1(2) of Robbery and Firearm Special Provision Cap 378 of 2003.

Dan-Oni adjourned the matter till Jan. 12, 2015 for DPP’s legal advice. NAN
