A Chief Magistrates’ court sitting in Egor, Benin City, has sentenced one Lucky Idahosa, 40, to 14 years in prison for raping his 17-year-old daughter.
The prosecutor, Osaretin Ogiehon, told the Court that the accused committed the act of incest against his daughter in June 2016.
The incident occurred at No 37, Upper S and T Barracks Street, Off Uselu/Lagos Road Benin.
Led in evidence by Ogiehon, the victim told the court that her father gave her a substance, which made her unconscious before committing the act.
She said Idahosa then threatened her not to disclose what happened to anyone.
The father pleaded guilty to the one count charge of rape.
Chief Magistrate, Mrs Igho Braimah, sentenced Idahosa to 14 years in prison without option of fine.
