Residents of Enugu State have expressed worry over the increase rate of car snatching in the state capital.
Investigation showed that the group targets Toyota Camry and Gulf 3 in their operation.
One of the latest victims while narrating her ordeal told DailyPost that she had parked her 2011 Toyota Camry model opposite the Cathedral Church of the Good Shephered, at the Independence Layout Enugu, when the hoodlums came and forcefully took it away at gun point.
According to her: “I went to a nearby market to buy some household items and from there I stopped by to see a friend of mine in her shop opposite the Anglican Church.
“Immediately some gun wielding young men entered and asked in a loud voice ‘who parked that Camry there’? With so much fear, I told them I was the person; they collected the key and zoomed off immediately”.
Also, a photo journalist who narrated his experience said his Camry was snatched at gun point by the hoodlums within the Enugu metropolis.
He said it was more disturbing that such vehicles are hardly recovered by security agents.
Another victim told DailyPost that he lost his vehicle to the group few hours after attending his child dedication.
“I had gone to drop off my in-laws who came during the child dedication. On my way to the house, they double crossed me and took the vehicle from me. Up till now, I have not seen it”, he lamented. Concerned residents who spoke on the matter called on security agents to rise up to the occasion.
