The Court of Appeal in Lagos state had on Monday, challenged the death sentenced passed on former Chief Security Officer to the late General Sani Abacha, Maj. Hamza al-Mustapha and his co-convict, Lateef Shofolahan.

The Justice Amina Augie-led appeal panel reserved judgment after parties argued their cases, and said the date of judgment would be communicated to them once it (the judgment) is ready.

Al-Mustapha was sentenced to death in January by a Lagos High Court for his alleged role in the death of Alhaja Kudirat Abiola in 1996.
