‘A 69-year old man identified as Peter Adeboye has been reportedly murdered by suspected assailants on his farmland at Igoba in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.
DAILY POST gathered that the deceased was allegedly strangulated to death by yet to be identified persons who attacked him on his farmland.
The deceased was said to have gone to his farm but did not return, a situation which made members of his family to organise a search party.
His body was later discovered dead.
Wife of the deceased, Mrs Esther Adeboye was said to have found the dead body on the farm land.
It was learnt that blood was gushing out of the mouth and nose of late Adeboye when his lifeless body was discovered.
It was equally disclosed that nothing was stolen from the deceased.
The Police Public Relations Office (PPRO) for the State Command, Wole Ogodo confirmed the incident.
He said the deceased was strangulated to death by unknown people.
According to him, “Mrs Esther Adeboye came to the station to report that her husband was missing, that he went to the farm and did not return, it was at this point that they mobilized search party and moved to the farm.
“On getting there, the wife of the deceased saw the corpse of her husband first and when they moved closer to the corpse they discovered that his trouser was removed, his neck was strangulated, blood was gushing out from his nose and mouth.
“It was also discovered that his handset was placed on his hand”.
Ogodo said the corpse had been deposited at the State Specialists Hospital Mortuary, Akure while investigation had commenced to arrest those who were behind the incident.
