10 killed as cult groups clash in Rivers state

Ten people have been reportedly killed in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State during a suspected cult clash.

DAILY POST gathered that trouble started when a cult group known as SAILOR, allegedly invaded Omoku town in ONELGA, killed and beheaded a member of a rival group, the Icelanders.

A source who wished to remain anonymous alleged that the Iceland cult gang last night stormed the community and killed ten persons in a reprisal attack.

The resident while lamenting that Omoku was now in shock and disarray, called on security agencies to be more proactive in tackling the challenges of insecurity in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local government area.

“Our concern is that we have a mini military cantonment in the area; we also have 48MOPOL Squadron at Egbema and a Police Division here in Omoku. This invasion lasted for hours and there was no confrontation of any sort from the security agencies.

“People are crying everywhere. A man and his wife were also killed.”

The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the incident.
