Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane, has said it was “special” for his son, Enzo, to score on his debut for the club, in their 6-1 win over La Cultural y Deportivo Leonesa, in Wednesday’s Copa del Rey last 32 second leg.
Zidane was able to rest some of his regulars, after they won the first leg 7-1.
Mariano Diaz scored a hat-trick and James Rodriguez also got on the scoresheet, as Madrid cruised again.
Zidane sent on Enzo at the break and the 21-year-old finished neatly from 20 yards after only 18 minutes on the pitch.
“If I take off my coach’s suit, I am very happy for my son,” Zidane said after the match.
“As his coach, I am very happy for Odegaard, Alvaro and Ruben too, and for all the players who did great work tonight. Of course when I get home, we will talk about it [with Enzo].
“But the team showed a good attitude and intensity tonight, especially considering the 7-1 from the first game. We played a serious game, began strong and achieved what we wanted.”
