Outgoing Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane has revealed that he spoke to club’s captain, Sergio Ramos, before announcing his resignation on Thursday.
Zidane, who has been in charge of the La Liga giants for two-and-a-half seasons since replacing Carlo Ancelotti, resigned his managerial position on Thursday.
He won the Champions League in three consecutive campaigns as well as winning a La Liga crown too.
The news of his departure shocked the football world, and it also took Real by surprise, but Zidane said he called Ramos to explain his decision before going public.
He said, “I’ve sent a message to all the squad and I’ve spoken to Sergio Ramos.
“As always as a person and captain, we have lived a lot together, he respects my decision.
“He wished me luck. He is a leader, a captain and it has been a pleasure to share three more years with him.”
Zidane also revealed that he is not looking for a new job at the moment, saying, “I’m not going to coach another team right now. I’m not looking for another team.”
